The world of the metalworker-poet

THE METALWORKER-POET’S MUSEUM: A DREAM FACTORY

Robert Coudray, the metalworker-poet, is waiting to welcome you to his museum in Lizio, in Morbihan. As you step through the door you’ll enter an amazing world of dreams and ecology. Everybody will be fascinated by this fantasy world peopled by sculptures, automata and stars of the flying trapeze.

WHERE FANTASY MEETS MAGIC

Welcome to the artist’s den! Every one of his 80 sculptures is made from recycled materials. Set in motion by the wind or just by a switch, they come alive as the fancy takes him. Out in the garden, children will especially love the little houses that came straight from the imagination of this Breton poet. They seem to be inhabited by mischievous spirits.

POETRY IN MOTION

Allow two hours to go round the site and see the sculptures, games, films and buildings. As you wander around you’ll be amazed by Coudray’s talent for creating movement and his innate sense of how to inspire dreams and thoughtfulness.

AN ECO-FRIENDLY MUSEUM

Robert Coudray’s creations are all about ecology too. His museum is self-sufficient in terms of energy. Solar panels and wind turbines supply the site’s electricity. A water butt and filtration system provide a reliable water supply. The buildings are constructed from natural materials, right down to the waterless toilets.

20 YEARS OF PASSION

Robert Coudray is an all-round genius – with a fascination for recycling, a passion for sculpture and a vocation for raising awareness. He has spent 20 years creating a museum in his own image, full of his own childlike spirit, and he’d love to share it with you.
